Top 10 Automotive Journalism Websites

The internet is a wide and open place, which gives a large amount of sources to acquire your automotive news from. However, some are better than others. Here is our take on the world of automotive websites. TLDR; They are all ass.

10. Jalopnik

By far the worst shithole of a website. Every single article has extreme boomer bias, every single take is a horrendous automotive take, I could go on and on. The average Jalopnik audience member doesn’t drive to school they ride the short bus.

9. JD Power

Chevrolet Is J.D. Power’s Most Awarded Brand

When the fuck did JD Power have a news section? Aren’t they the people who Chevy pays to give them awards? And how are those awards even decided? So many questions…

8. Drive Tribe

It’s an attempt to make a Top Gear presenter endorsed version of CarThrottle. An automotive community with people controlling different “tribes”, or parts of the car world. Instead, it just turned into an automotive graveyard.

What are you saying? The website was taken down? Yeah, sounds about right.

7. Motor 1

The baseline for automotive journalism. The kind of articles you see show up on MSN News. Everything is dead straight, no fun, no bullshit. Facts and nothing but the facts.

6. Autocar India

If you’re a simple city worker in the depths of Mumbai, this website is the place for you. All the Automotive news you need, custom tailored for your home country. Plenty of Tuk-Tuk reviews, new taxi reveals and more.

5. Motor Trend

90% of Motor Trend is stuck behind a paywall. What’s there is good, but I can only read the first 3 sentences and make up the rest in my head.

4. Autoweek

The Boomer of car sites, autoweek has been around for decades, and they sure do love to tell you. In fact, they mention their old material so much, the new material is forgotten and left behind. Autoweek is wonderful in a “the good ol days” kind of way. But on the other hand, that’s all they are. Autoweek is the 90 year old grandpa attempting to tell war stories to a group of kids.

3. Carthrottle

Carthrottle has a soft place in my heart, since that’s where me and Monty started. The best part about Carthrottle was the ability to make your own articles and show them to a wide audience of automotive fans. Years ago, Carthottle was incredible. Now, it’s just a slightly better-than-average news site. It gets the credit it does because the closing of the CT community is the reason MSIMA exists.

2. Top Gear

If you would’ve asked me a year ago, Top Gear would be somewhere near 5 or 6. However, just recently Top Gear has gone from being a stuck up, “I’m better than you” website to a website of the people. Funny articles that poke fun at themselves along with the rest of the automotive journalism world are becoming more common on Top Gear, as they should. Not to mention, quality reviews like always.

1. MSIMA

A home for unbiased, factual yet entertaining news. A website for enthusiasts, by enthusiasts. Holding the highest standard for automotive news, with almost 15 weekly viewers. They’re the best, number 1. Always was, since day 1. Don’t read anything else, bookmark this website and read it every night before you go to sleep. Let the word “asshole” be the last thing you see before a long nights sleep.
