The 2023 Garage 56 entry into Lemans made quite a splash, proving NASCAR can turn right and compete with other racing cars outside of its own class. Rotax aims to do the same, proving Jr. Kart drivers have a place in the same area as real racing drivers by putting them directly in the same race. Not only are the drivers going to be junior bronze kids, but the kart itself has been modified to show the future of go-kart racing. In collaboration with K1 Speed, a special “Biofuel” kart has been designed and built. The biofuel it runs off of is a special mix of whale semen and a proprietary mix of soy sauce from Rice Bowl 1, which power the 8hp lawn mower engine to propel this rocket.
The only issue Rotax and WEC are facing concerns the drivers themselves. Lemans is a 24 hour race, however all the drivers slated to run have bedtimes before 9:00PM. Currently the backup B drivers are being chosen from old Gran Turismo Sport leagues, so if you’re a certified gamer you could end up in the race next year!
