Rimac Nevera Time Attack win’s Monterey Car Week’s “Worst Launch Spec Award”

Every year, petrol heads the world over gather in California for Monterey Car Week. It’s a celebration of all things motoring, from historic racing, ocean side concourse events, lemons events, and the plethora of near by automotive shenanigans makes it gearhead bucket list item.

As such, automakers choose to launch new cars or display special projects during this week. Lotus, presumably on psychedelics, released a 70’s Can Am car, Luicid Revealed its range topping Air Sapphire Performance, and Acura teased us another high horsepower electric hyper car in a world where I just want the NSX to have worked.

Organizers of the event also hold over all competitions to celebrate accomplishments of motoring throughout the year. And Rimac has just won a convented award: Worst Launch Spec.

“We originally were going to forgo the award this year, however upon seeing Rimac’s new Nevera Time Attack, we knew instantly that we had a winner”

While not as jarring as prior years, the board of adjudicators and officiators felt they enough time has passed since the new Nissan Z car proto was shown for a new recipient of the award to be chosen.
