Golf GTI vs Focus ST – Stating the Obvious

The hot hatch battle of the century?

You boring-ass little prick. You know the answer to this comparison already. Both cars had over 100k miles on them, both manuals. Focus engine more fun, Golf better over all. I’ll take the GTI, and you can shove your opinion up you ass. Now on to the rest of the article:

The Renault Oroch aka Dacia Duster from god knows how long ago… eat shit

Still here? Perfect. I’m writing this while sick and stuck inside. I don’t want your sympathy, merely your traffic, you worthless consumer.

The Renault Oroch is a total piece of shit. Sorry for the three people reading this in a country where that’s the top dog of cars.

The noble steed in the plastic

Shifts like you’re sliding metal and wood around with very little feeing. But like, not the kinda wood/metal feeling of a nice rifle. More like that stupid drawer that won’t close no matter how many times you try and re-rail it. Mid-2010’s Hyundai made a better attempt while probably not trying. Rears are drum brakes, fronts are disks, has Steelies too. Bed is too small for any American sized use case, which is why I was in my half home of Uruguay when I drove it. We got bikes back there, but they would half hang out of the bed. It does hand brake turns nicely.

Oroch… Duster… same shit

I once had to use it to bump start a Nissan March.

This total dog of a Ute was either easier to drive than an i10 Hyundai, or I had stalled enough cars state side where I had gotten used to it. FWD too, which for us large American folk is a bit alien for a vehicle that has a bed.

My head feels hot right now, fever probably. Ya know what else was hot? The interior of that thing. It had AC. Just like my z3 has AC. It “just takes a minute, no really I promise no no don’t leave!”

My most fond memories go as follows:

– doing hand brake turns into my grandma’s driveway

– avoiding beach traffic and having to drive half way up a sand dune

– driving it out of a ditch in front of our house

As much as I’ve shat in the poor French ute…thing… , it was a fairly nice car to have for a few weeks in Uruguay. Big enough to fit five, bed was useful for carrying beach shit or extra people. And for once the car was powerful enough to not get bullied by a base golf on the highway. Upgrades people!
