To commemorate having made it to the prestigious formula 1 race held in the humid corner of America’s favorite state (that is Florida and you will NOT argue), Alpine decided to make some special edition “South Beach Miami Themed” cars, called the South Beach Colorway.

We at MSIMA do wonder why a company is celebrating a race in a country they haven’t sold cars in for 40 years in an event they haven’t won at, but we digress. It is admirable to celebrate optimism at times.

While the “Miami colors” can be had as their own appearance package, they are part of a bigger “Miami edition” A110, which treats the owner to the full south Florida experience.

The “Miami Edition” not only paints your car to feel like your dad’s “Now that’s 80’s” thrift shop CD threw up on your French sportscar, but also forgoes the AC and replaces it with a humidifier. The heater is also set to a constant 97° F (36° C), while the scent of piss boiling on concrete mixed with swamp water is pumped into the cabin to fully immerse the owner in the humid hell atmosphere.

Alpine also intends to leave a the radio from a 2001 Corolla in the car, siting weight and authenticity. We are told it will only pick up Radio W107.5 AMOR.

Lastly, to complete the immersion, any owner who options the “Miami Edition” is given a unique registered certificate, and by that we mean they’re added to the Dade county Sex Offender Registry.

This last surprise was not unique to the Miami edition, as parent company Renault also released a “Victoria Park” edition Megane in 2010, which includes the same unique owner ID!
