We have heard rumblings from short tracks across the country. Herds of these sorry plastic excuses migrating from the backwoods of the American south to convine at local oval tracks.

At exactly 3 am, those who’ve survived the drive find their way on track. Their inline fours buzzing way into the night. Hours drag on, engines explode, yet these cavaliers continue to circle until the crack of dawn.

Towing their fallen comrades, these plastic aberrations tread back to the woods from which they came.

Night after night, the ritual continues. Night after night, more Cavaliers seemingly give their lives up in these secluded coliseums of mechanical atrophy. We do not know what fate lies with those unlucky cars who fail to last the race, nor do we know what compells them to engage in such an activity.

For now then, these races remain a curiosity, captured on grainy CCTV footage and blurry cellphone clips. We know little about these strange ghostly appearances, and even less about their rituals.
