After the mess that was the Las Vegas GP, F1 has been looking at easier countries to bribe host street circuits at.
This comes at the dismally of both Formula 1 and the casino owners who backed the event at the government’s unwillingness to help them out.
The United States was unwilling to deploy the National Guard to ‘deal with certain striking issues’ , with the Secretary of State saying “it’s not the damn Guilded Age. We might have many internal issues, but we are not going to send the a military force against a bunch of angry chefs. We need them ‘elsewhere’. No amount of VIP tickets will convince us otherwise.”
Worried that the example set might be attempted in Miami and other street circuits, organizers have begun looking for new venues to hold races. Their main criteria: a government willing to “take action” on their behalf.
So far, the Pyongyang GP, the South Sudan Hope for Africa Charity GP, the Myanmar GP, and re-adding the Russian GP have all been considered.
Alternatively, if an agreement with the mob can be met, then F1 will continue to race out of Las Vegas.
