Ah the Ami. Thank you Citröen, for making this little box on wheels. I know technically it’s hopeless outside of a city, however I did see a few that made it out into the Italian countryside, oh you adventurous fucks!
The Ami is a wondrous vehicle, sorry, quadracycle, that aims to open up transportation to the youngins like you and I. It’s a hip and quirky thing that looks wild and goes like a turtle fresh out of water. It’s slow as molasses, but that hasn’t stopped people from doing some silly and wild things with it.
Derestricting the Ami

The first thing any self-respecting Ami owner should look into is the speed limiter. The Ami is meant for city streets, so it’s deep-rooted electronically limited to a mere 28mph, which doesn’t seem to suit some speed-seeking drivers. Looking into places like the Citroen Ami Hackers! group and Ami Mods, cracking the ECU takes some special hands but it’s claimed that through a Magicmotorsport Flex the Ami can achieve a terrifying 45mph+ which is almost double the intended speed.
Cosmetic Parts

As you can see with this particular Ami, a lot of visual mods have gone into it by Bejuis Auto. Surprisingly, the wheel market seems to be where most of the options are. The fenders can fit up to 17 inches of metal, along with the bolt pattern being 4×100 almost any cheap Honda civic wheel will fit right on.
Suspension Mods

Yes, there has been very recent development in the Ami modification scene. We’re all hoping this leads to much, much more because some mad lads have managed to SLAM AN AMI. With much cutting and welding of components, an airbag system has been crammed onto the incredible Ami, with this being dubbed the “Slami” by the Gresswells team. They put this piece of automotive artwork together, and now you get to bear witness to its greatness. Behold.
