The battle of the sunshades, and should I have balled out for some custom parts?
Generic sunshades come in a couple of different sizes, but they rarely seem to fit any of the test vehicles I am lucky to get. They are either too large, and I am jamming them into the spot, or too small, and they don’t stay in place well, even with visors deployed to hold them. My primary objective was spending as little money as possible and not truly covering the windshield, I simply do not care that much. Neither of them fit that well, the 0001 junk metal of the HHR’s (I’ll have you know its an SS, just know that means its a cool car) windshield cover seems to have warped with the heat and you kinda just have to jam the bent bit around the mirror. As for the corolla, it’s oversized and does not use the last 2 folds. It does not cover the whole windshield. Now I recognize that I am not a true baller, and I didn’t shell out 66 dollars for a CUSTOM WEATHERTECH FORD BRONCO SPORT sunshade, but such are the compromises of life.
But how do these sunshades make you feel?
See as with any review there is a need to tell you how the item makes you feel emotionally, it IS a car part so how does it contribute to my car? Well first off, in the middle of a shadeless black parking lot they change the interior from total hell to only mildly painful. In conclusion, you have to think if you want to spend more time in the car. Do they make you want to drive more? No, no they fucking don’t, I cant see anything out of my windshield now.
