HydroCar, makers of a hydrogen fuel cell amphibious hyper car, suffered a set back during their launch event (which we at MSIMA were legally invited to and did not have to tunnel our way in underneath the car before launch). But before the tragic sinking, let’s give you uneducated masses some context!

HydroCar was founded back in 2023 by a Dubai based holding group looking to make the ultimate eco-friendly hypercar for boating and yachting enthusiasts. After interviewing several yacht owners in Dubai and Monaco, it was found the the lengthy, costly, and emissions producing process of preparing, loading, and storing their exotic cars on board their ship was a real drag on on these nautical car enthusiasts. So, to combat this, why not make the car a boat?
Introducing the H2 HyperCat, a 1400 HP hydrogen fuel cell hyper car that also happens to morph into a boat at the touch of a button. The wheels fold into the streamlined hull-shaped underbody, as a clutch engages a water jet to move the H2 at over 40 mph! Plus, due to the car being mostly the same carbon fiber as race boats, the H2 can be safely towed behind whatever mega-yacht the owners’ fancy taking out for the month, and then driven up a boat ramp and onto the streets of Monaco!
The car was revealed last weekend in the Port of Miami, with the production H2 HyperCat being driven right into the bay… and that’s where shit hit the fan. Almost immediately, water started pouring in from under the car, flooding the cabin as the driver and company founder dawned their rebreathers. Soon after, power was cut when water had touched the motor controllers, and the car descended into the murky water. Minutes later, the two men emerged looking visibly unwell, and were rushed to hospital.
The car was resurfaced later that night. During an investigation of the drowned car, several punctures in the hull were found. Authorities say that these match the profile of shovels found near the launch site, which may indicate some form of sabotage.
We at MSIMA think that no such thing had happened, and that they should not invest age this any further and not check for any more tunneling equipment in the port of Miami.
