The most recent Ford GT has been in production since 2016. And officially, the car should’ve been put to pasture as late as last year. But with the announcement of the MK IV, a no fucks given track car, it seems that Ford just can’t help themselves.

We reached out to Ford to see if we can get more information:

“We just can’t stop building these things”, said head of ford performance, “hell we stopped racing in 2019 thinking that we’d stop but that only made things worse!”

And after talking with other members of Ford Performance, it seems the issue has spiraled out of control. Almost as if the team has been addicted to the project, held captive by it.

The idea was floated around to keep the focus and fiesta ST and RS models, much like Volkswagen has done with the Golf GTI, however anyone who could have represented ford’s performance devision were too preoccupied with another version of the Ford GT to be able to answer.

“We didn’t know we needed help until one day at lunch we all realized we were having the same reoccurring dream about designing another edition of the Ford GT”, one unnamed employee told us in confidentiality.

Upper management decided that the remaining budget not allocated to whatever the current version of the Ford GT is (the MK IV?) would go towards helping the team move on to a new project in any way possible.

“They’ve made great progress in transitioning over to the new Mustang”, says hired psychologist Marie. “It was rough at first, and some engineers actually started to secretly design a new generation Ford GT LMH prototype after group therapy. However we’ve since moved on from those days”.

“We have some concerns based around their obsession with seeing how many versions of the mustang can be made”, says ford performance’s therapist. “However the Ford GT mkIV will be the last ford GT for a while. I think.”
