Mercedes-Benz STUNS THE WORLD with the release of the Flying Car 2 (which is not a crossover between the movie franchises of Planes and Cars). Many said it couldn’t be done… ABSOLUTE MORONS. It’s here, and it’s here to judge you.

The clouds parted over Stuttgart as a single sunbeam cast its hopeful ray upon the industrial epicenter of Baden-Württemberg (the Mercedes-Benz R&D department), tears in the eyes of millions as it descends from that heavenly kingdom. This is but the beginning. The blinging light at the centre of the 3-pointed star (millions have gone blind). God? Is that you?

As per Mercedes themselves (who only allowed us mortals to obtain specifications after adequate groveling), the Flying Car 2 (or FC2 Class) will be released as the 600FC2 first, followed by lesser trims you won’t care about.

The launch 600 series will feature a 1000hp quad motor EV drivetrain, with a series of shafts and clutches used to transmit power from driving the wheels to driving the deployable rotors. Mercedes says the top off the line model will have 500 miles of EV driving range and 275 miles of flight range with a total of 3 hours of loiter time.

Mercedes says that the 600FC2 will start around €250,000. Additionally, you may also option 6 AIM-120 AMRAAMs and 2 AIM-9 Sidewinders within its optional internal weapons bay if you opt for the security pack. However this will limit your trunk space.
