The crisis becomes clearer as engineers search for a way to count below 1
Recently MSIMA informants have relayed concerning news from the Porsche headquarters in Stuttgart. As the company makes early preparations for the next generation of 911 sports cars, engineers have reportedly discovered that the company is running out of numbers for future model designations.
The 992 series succeeding the 991 was perhaps a mitigation for this looming crisis, but is temporary at best. The 993 name has forged a legacy prior, and counting down to a zero would infringe on the universally known and renowned 1964 AMC Rambler Ambassador 990.
In the growing confusion, some individuals apparently suggested going to negative numbers (99-1, 99-2, etc.), but the method was deemed too extreme and they were promptly dismissed.
MSIMA will be present to serve the automotive community as this story continues to unfold.
